Default Yes - A Blog Is Right For Your Business

Over the past year I have come to believe that part of the SEO process is building a blog that parallels and complements your website from the beginning. Once again I will use my trucking website as an example. Unfortunately I did not start a blog when I started the site. Once I did begin to blog about the trucking industry I realized the blog was another gateway to the main site. As I write trucking industry information, I can reference different areas of the website. For instance if I am writing a review on a new mode over the road truck I will reference our truck manufacturers page for more information in different models manufacturers. If I write a review of a trade show that I attend then I can link to the area of our site that highlights upcoming trade shows and meetings.

A blog is a good place to write about trend in your particular business area. Let the blog drive traffic to your site. When starting a new site, plan your blog along side of it. Linking from the website back to the blog will also help in SEO for the blog.

In short....... yes blogs and websites go hand in hand........... eric

Good thinking Eric,

I agree almost any site out there could benefit from a blog. Just realize what you post is "on the record" and perceived as the companies stance so make sure you chose your words wisely depending on your customer base.

Thanks for sharing that,
Rob

Default Great article!

That was a great article. I have recently been exploring this very subject on my blog. As I am interesting in internet market, I find blogging to be an interesting new tool for businesses to promote themselves and really contribute to the industry, and set themselves apart from the rest.

There was a time where just having a website was enough, but I think that in the new web 2.0 environment businesses must really contribute and participate in the online environment in order to get the best results.
