Hey, this challenge is awesome!

I actually started it on the day he wrote that article, and I'm still going strong. I think it's been a month and a half now of blogging everyday.

You can see my blog posts about this challenge in the pingbacks on the article (comments #15,20,21).

Alan was nice enough to blog about me as well when he revisited the challenge recently.

If you want to get serious about blogging, then you absolutely have to take on this challenge. It's a great way to kickstart your blog, and really nothing but good can come from it. It's a great motivational tool, and you'll learn a bunch from it.

Take on the challenge, you'll be glad you did!

Definitely it's inspired me to get more serious. If you want serious results you need to be serious about it. Once a day isn't that hard but the whole gotta be passionate thing comes back into play because if not it can become tiresome.

Alan has a lot of great posts; glad we could share this post and to have him on the forum.

I'd say it's a must read for anyone starting out or feeling uninspired.

NaBloPoMo participants do this every year during the month of November. Because there's such a collection of people doing it at once, it drives traffic even higher. I loved participating last year and I'll be up for it again later this year.....but blogging 30 days in a row, several months in a row, would probably lead me to burn-out, even though I love what I blog about.

Weekend Posting is hardest; you have the most free time yet oddly the least free time if that makes sense.

Try making a post routine for weekends, I found that really helpful.

For example, my Saturdays were always a product or service review, and Sundays were always blog reviews.

It's super nice to know that weekend topics are already taken care off, you just have to write.

Great points Tim. A little organization goes a long way.

Taking up the challenge, I agree about how much harder it is on weekends but now I have an incentive.

I've found that in blogging for 30 days the whole writing process becomes much easier. Also, once you start getting comments and especially questions, that makes all the difference in the world.

I've turned many a comment or question into a post. I'd much rather share an extended answer with all readers, than answer individually.

Then if you throw in something quirky like my Healthy Dining category as opposed to John Chow's Fine Dining category, and round it out with something that's frustrating you about an affiliate issue or something you can't figure out and add a review here and there, you just about have your week filled up with posts.

I make it a habit of using the drafts or Save And Continue Editing feature of WordPress when I think of an idea. I usually write a title and the first paragraph and then use one of those ideas when I can't think of anything to write about. I normally have 3 or 4 posts going at once in my drafts folder.

Alan
