Yep, an excellent primer for newbies... especially tip #9. All to often I see new (and old) blogs that are so full of ads or flashy widgets that I just instantly close that window and move on.

Many bloggers talk about themselves (and their lives too) but I have not seen any too "self-absorbed" or "selfish". So I guess our blogosphere is generally a healthy read. The most common mistake I have seen, are those blogs that have become an "ad house" - you can not only view ads at the top, but left and right and at the bottom, centre-bottom AND three-quarters of a bottom of their blog/website. Multiple banners at the bottom are most unsightly (and committed by some bloggers from my country)!
