Default Unwanted Comments

Does anyone know the best way to block persitant nasty comments that are from the same person. I,ve set the comments to moderation but they still attempt to post them. Any suggestions would be great. I have a blogspot blog.

Do you have your comment moderation on, where you have to approve them first?

Unfortunately for blogger.com there is no way to ban a user from commenting. Since you have enabled comment moderation, the next step would be to enable word verification to attempt to frustrate the commentator from leaving (many) more bad comments.

Just delete them and always read who sent a comment prior to reading the comment itself. Erase the persistent persons posts and don't worry about them. There are all kinds of those on the superhighway.

You could label the comment as spam, in that way you could easily delete it

I do like the extra features in wordpress where you can ban a user or an ip.

Sadly unwanted comments like like bad debts to retailers. You never know who or where they will come from but it's "part of doing business" part of having "open comments".

Install some anti spam and ignore your detractors! They cared enough to write so you're doing something right!

Wink Re: Unwanted Comments

Many thanks for the advice. I have managed to install an ip blocker that is now preventing the person from entering my blog, so maybe they will now give up and move on.
