Default Question about feedburner

OK so I've been bloging since mid-October and was bummed to see in google reader that I only had 30 subscribers

I decided to direct my feed through feedburner so I could see who my subscribers were and was amazed to see that I had 75 subscribers!

Where is the discrepancy coming from - 30 vs. 75? Is feedburner accurate?

How were you tracking readers in Google Reader? I thought it was just an RSS reader and not a tool to track readers.

Honestly, I would trust feedburner because maybe other people subscribed to your blog by other means. (Not through Google.)

I wasn't "tracking" them in google reader, I just looked up my blog under the "discover" tool and saw that there were 30 subscribers. I don't know "who" they were though.

You just answered my question! Duh! I forgot there were other readers besides google so obviously that is where the difference must be

I love Feedburner. Not only does it make it easy to see how many subscribers you have, but there are all kinds of tools that they offer, as well.

Using Feedburner is really helpful with all it's tracking tools. Just make sure to link your readers to your Feedburner URL when they click to subscribe. That way you can keep it all in one nice place. Example: Julie's Journal

I think on blogspot blogs there are also a subscribe to this blog option that is done through gmail accounts? I've "subscribed" to a friends blogspot and my gmail account shows as someone subscribed. Maybe that could be it?
