Default curious about followers

I now have 29 followers to my blog-- I have been blogging for three months and would love to get a reality check on this. Is this good sign, mediocre or do I need to keep promoting...at what point, if ever does a blog take off without haveing to promote it anymore?
Anyone??

It all depends. I'd say nothing wrong at all with 29. Also if it's your 1st blog chances are it will be harder to gain subscribers then on subsequent ones.

I mean what are you doing to get "out there"? Joining this forum was a good idea. Are you on any other forums? Many social media sites? Do you routinely comment on other similar blogs in your niche?

Right now I have 28 followers and that blog is about 3 months old so I'd say you right about on par. The only suggestion that might help you "get out there" more is to join Entrecard. It helped drive a lot of traffic to my blog, but more importantly, to meet other bloggers and do link exchanges with them.

It's been a while since I used Entrecard but I remember when I 1st got into it I made an influx of new friends and connections.

I think that joining entrecard is a perfect idea and once you get that rolling and gain connections, you can decide to dump it or hang onto the account.

If you look at seasoned bloggers like Darren and Chris, you will observe that they haven't relaxed just because they are on top.

Take real life example, big companies doesn't stop spending on ads just because they are giants in their domain. Promotion along with new stuff is the key to 'CONTINUOUS SUCCESS'.

I'd say that's great. I have been blogging for almost 3 months and I only have 3 followers. Of course, I put most of my efforts into my other blog which isn't a Blogger blog...

I was going to say the same thing. You will always be promoting your blog and the stuff you write. Once you stop promoting it will probably be a good time to stop blogging.

To my way of thinking it is possible that you will eventually reach a point where promoting becomes less of an issue. When you blog is really popular you get more traffic from search engines, which converts to subscribers and the process is self feeding. It is no longer important to get out there and drop Entrecards because people find your site by themselves. But that point takes a lot work to reach.

You don't ever really stop promoting, because writing content for a blog is promoting in and of itself. You just change the type of promoting that you do as your blog reaches new stages of maturity.

I would agree... If you were expecting 100 then I could understand your concern. I personally don't use the registration feature.I don't like to have to register just to leave a comment.
