Yeah I back up regularly. I used to backup once a month and then in dec 2006 I lost it all and so I had to pull out my posts from google cache and write a script to parse them and put them into the db. major pita

I back up my blog daily - I can't bear losing anything!

I use WP-DBbackup which does it all for me.

I think you do have to do a bit of cronning, but it's all explained in the file.

So basically you have it done automatically each day? Where does it store the file from the backup? Sounds ... Perfect

I recently installed this plugin on the latest version of Wordpress, thanks to Rhys' mention of it in another blog's comments, and it all worked automatically. The latest versions of Wordpress take care of cron internally somehow.

I'm now getting backups emailed to me daily. They're pretty small for all the work that's gone into the blog!

Yeah, I use WordPress Database backup too, and I've set it to backup my blog and send the file to my email every night. And no, that's not paranoid. That's smart. LOL.

Err, but what I don't understand is, if something happens to my blog, would I be able to restore it from those files that were emailed to me?

i like using WP-db backup too , i have had that since 3 years now and yes the email option is the best . it emails you a .sql file , right ? then thats all you need ... except the files uploaded of course .
normally in a blog you wont be UPLOADING much files as its not exactly a website .
I use flickr plugin for photos and youtube plugin for videos if any .
