Align Left or Center text?

Which do you prefer. To have the text aligned on the left or centered.

I usually center mine with the images, because it seems to look better to me, but someone has mentioned that it bothers them..

So I am taking a poll on this..

It depends on what I'm doing. I use a lot of center alignment on my Poetry blog, but I use left alignment and left and right aligned images on my Book Review blog. In that case the images and text just fall into place naturally like a magazine.

It all depends on context. You can't say that one is better than the other in all cases.

For regular articles, posts, rambling, I definitely prefer it left-aligned. Like Nathan said, though, centering images and poetry is quite normal and I like them that way.

I always do mine left - that's the way I voted. But now as I'm reading, I agree with Nathan and Jess - for poetry, center makes sense.

I used to justify all my text, and then I read somewhere that a lot of people find it difficult to read. Now I left-align most of my text (including poetry - I'd like to check out your poetry blog, NathanKP), but depending on style and content I'd consider center.

Funny how on this forum the left so far seems to be the choice, yet another forum for bloggers, the centered text is the choice.
We bloggers sure are a versatile bunch of people!

I think left looks normal in a way that we are used to. So it's left for me.
