Blog Running Out of Space - Not Adding Anything...

So on one of my blogs I keep getting critical disk space errors. Seems like it's disk space is increasing but I'm not doing anything... Only thing I could think of was askimet? I just deleted ~49,000 blocked spam messages.

Still says low on disk space; hoping it just hasn't updated.

Has this happened to you? I'm using wordpress...

If you have SSH access, run the 'du' command and inspect the disk usage of installation tree folders. I think you can easily pick up any massive consumption in any directory.

If you use a plugin like WP Cache, it might be worth it to check how many expired cache pages you have.

If the site has been around for a while you may want to get rid of some of your old stats files. They tend to add up after a couple of years.

You may also want to make sure your wordpress is upgraded, out of dated versions are prone to problems.

If you are using a stats plugin, you might wanna check how much space its database is using and delete old stuff in case it uses up a lot of space.

I'm thinking it has to be with a plugin. I still haven't resolved this issue. Not the most "apt" with MySQL so I'm putting off going in there.

You can install the WP DBManager plugin which not only lets you backup your WP database manually and automatically, it also lets you see all the tables in your database and shows how much space it uses up. YOu can also empty/drop tables with this plugin.

Very handy plugin and a must have for any WordPress blog.
