Most of the spam that gets sweeped up for me by akismet these days is easily identifyable- a mass of poorly formatted links with an array of urls that convey to clue as to their content. These are easy to spot.
Then came spam comments that used 'real' people names, and Akismet wondered if perhaps thes emight be real comments, despite the content being the same.
Then random comments about 'track backs' started appearing, which looked like pingbacks but didn't link to me.
Then a variety of nearly-human comments such as
- at first I did not agree but the last paragraph makes sense to me
- Nice post! Am adding to reader!
- Hi, I realy like your blog
all non-specific comments with strange websites listed as the commenter's own.
And now, in an attempt to be more 'post-specific' comments, they have started copying and pasting one sentance from my post, and using that as their comment!
Did they think I would not notice my own words?
