Default Stolen Blog Entries?

So I noticed that another site linked to my page, and of course I was happy about this, but then I went to their site only to find they had copied my post word for word!

Have you ever had anything like this happen to you?
I sent the other blogger an email asking them to remove it.

Happens a lot. I wouldn't expect a reply. Looks like all of those posts are atributed to different authors and are posted minutes apart- it's just an automated process. 3 months old with 500 posts? Has to be.

Oh look, and it has viarga and cialis advertised in the top right. Shame.

Stolen Bloggeries?

You can huff and puff and freak the heck out wasting your energy like SOME people do.

OR you can just say crap that sucks but luckily search engines are d@mn smart so unless your site is totally new and "off the grid" it will give you credit as where the content originated. Also those scrapper sites NEVER publish new content so engines know.

Someone steals most of my reviews but I don't let it bother me. Is my assumption above wrong? I'm not sure.

It needs a lot of promotion on your part to help you get to the top instead of the scrapper. If the owner of the scraped blog promote and drive links to your blog, more than you have, search engines may see it as the one with more authority than yours.

Sad fact, but let's hope search engines improve their algorithms quickly.

Meanwhile, there is no replacement for promotion.

imitation is the greatest form of flattery...
someone likes your stuff so they are biting it.
really though, him duplicating your content will hurt him alot more than it hurts you.

Hrm. I have just never heard of this happening before and was surprised when I saw it. The blogger did contact me telling me they removed it though, and it looks like they did.

That's the downside of RSS feeds, makes it very easy for people to steal your content to build their own sites. I thought Google was supposed to know about this duplicate data and punish for it, but I have seen cases where it doesn't look like it is doing that.
