Well, of course self-hosted WP is the best solution, but on blogspot you can use your own domain, that makes it an option.
You can also redirect only subdomain to blogspot, while the main site is hosted elsewhere. Blog Kazimierz
is not well developed, but gives the idea as an example.

I started with Blogger, then discovered WordPress so I moved to a free webhost, then went with Dreamhost for a while (unsatisfied with their service) and now I'm a happy camper with MediaTemple. (100 GB of disk space, 1 TB of bandwidth for $20/month)

I'm on Hostgator using the Wordpress platform. Every thing runs great, and I have a LARGE database.

I also have a reseller account on Hostgator if anyone is interested.
