I need some help with my wordpress blog. I tried to change my permalinks to this type: /%postname%/ and succeeded. I checked my htaccess and it was correct based on wordpress. But the problem is, When links to previous post were clicked, it gives a 404 error. I tried using some plugins for permalinks found by researching but still failed. I hope someone here can help. |

Hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the plugin did not work. I think the problem is the databse and the wordpress itself. I had it installed directly from my web hosting provider. I tried setting up a new one, downloaded the new wordpress version and made a new database directly from my control panel and viola...everything works fine. But I did it to set up a new blog.

Have a look at this Redirection plugin, it is great for monitoring and fixing 404s and is supposed to automatically 301 changed permalinks: Redirection - Manage 301 redirections without modifying Apache | Urban Giraffe |
