Well it depends upon the user. I like twitter specifically because it has more of my friends and it easy to use + good interface + a lot of applications and services. I find Plurk overwhelming and less responsive

Plurk all the way. I must say that Plurk is an all around means of communication. I have used Twitter in the past with little success of gaining true friendship. Usually with Twitter people update based on what the are doing and most do not respond to a single thing you say. I joined Plurk and within 3 days had 60 friends who would hold conversations with me and intellectual ones at that. I have gotten so many great ideas from my pleeps it is not even funny. If you are just looking for a way to present your website or promote your product then I suggest Twitter , but if you are looking for anything more, such as conversations and communication the I suggest you give Plurk a shot. As an added bonus the service is up more than Twitter. |

I'd say Plurk just because it's so much easier to carry on quality conversations. The timeline is a brilliant idea that Twitter should rip off, but probably wont. Plurk just flows better and seems easier to me.

hmmm..I just learned about plurk via blogging and signed up. But i dont think i can use it since i find it hard to use. The set up itself looks confusing and I think you need to stay there for a while to get use to it. I use twitter and i find it more user friendly.

I've been thinking about this some more. Plurk seems to be more purely social, where Twitter has broader usage. Example, just about all the major news agencies (BBC, AP, etc) have Twitter streams... but if they're on Plurk, I haven't noticed them? Maybe it depends on how you plan to use the site, which one is a better fit.
