Default Where is this traffic coming from?

For some reason I'm getting traffic, and both of my web statistics reporters say they come directly, I check to see their ip address (it doesn't show me the last 1-3 numbers) and it's they've not been here before, how have they come, word of mouth? Because one guys the only person in Portugal I've ever had and he came directly.

I shouldn't complain, I'm just wondering.

Search engine takes longest to grow. Well worth it though

I started off being heavily refferal sites but now have numbers more similar to bloggeries. I have 49% search engine, 34% reffering sites, and 17% direct. And the direct percentage of my traffic falls off every day.

That's a good start. Could definitely be word of mouth regarding your first question.

Yeah mine is like 90% referals. Most were from this forum until I signed up with entrecard, but I really don't view that as real traffic just yet.

I have only had 6 total visits from search engines, but I think 4 of them were from me checking on it.

That's right. Although I have a vague memory that if someone surfs with javascript turned off, it might not necessarily show the referring site in your stats - but I'm not 100% sure about that: perhaps someone else can confirm?

Web-based email usually shows up as a regular ref in my stats - now you mention it, though I never noticed, I guess clicks from desktop client email links would show as direct traffic too.
