I was just wondering if the kind of blogs that doesn't have a constant category, and just about talking about somethings interesting or you should know, or even something you just want to announce and show to everybody... Does this kind of blogging fail?

Personally, I don't think you will make much money or get many readers if your blog is simply another web journal. Too many of those already.

Depends on what you mean by "fail", which depends on why the blog was started in the first place.
If you mean will they attract thousands of RSS subscribers, probably not. I certainly wouldn't subscribe to a blog that was all over the place, topic-wise, even if I liked one particular topic. If you mean make money, that usually depends on targeted traffic. If your blog lasts long enough, you'll probably get some decent search engine traffic from various topical searches, and might be able to convert some of that into income. I don't think it'd be as consistent, though, as a blog that had a topic and stuck to it. If you mean that the blogger has a chance to vent about anything and everything, I'd say it'd be a roaring success. |

Yeah, as jshaffstall said, it depends what your goals are and what do you mean by "fail".
Blogs that blog about everything and anything under the sun usually fail pretty quickly. To get a blog into the A-List, you must have a central topic... - Ruchir
