Lifesperspective just celebrated its 40th day birthday! Fine, may not be such a big deal, but I've made an honest review of my journey thus far, which I think many new bloggers and would-be bloggers maybe interested. Here it is:
LifesPerspective Business Blog » My First 40 days as a Blogger Do leave your comments on my blog and STUMBLES will always be appreciated.

"shall be honest. While it is true that there is a great sense of satisfaction in writing this blog, there are more days that I’ve felt discouraged as can probably be seen from my post here, than encouraged. Starting a blog is an extremely painful, agonizing and moulding process. Who doesn’t want others to appreciate their efforts at writing? I’ve had to grapple with questions like ‘What’s the point of writing if no one is listening?’ almost every single day for the past 40 days. A tireless effort of marketing, promoting and writing has been invested into Lifesperspective and it has been tough. Real tough."
I just read your post about your first 40 days of blogging and what you've learnt and I think it's good for anyone starting out to realize that it takes time and you have to believe in yourself alot earlier and alot longer than most think. Unfortunately too many blogs fade away into the blogosphere before they got a chance to flourish because many people become discouraged and leave. Glad you figured that out and I think it's a great read for anyone who is beginning blogging. Rob Quote:

It helps to imagine that you are writing to an audience of millions. I think the feeling that you are writing to an audience of no one is the biggest road block to new Bloggers. The honest truth is it may take many months, but if you continue to write with a large audience in mind, then it will develop.

But for speciality blogs? Even technical blogs.
Hard to do it for some blogs. But I guess it would be alright if you are a general blog. And probably get more audience too. |

Getting those comments on your blog does help keep one motivated! I tend to turn that around, and leave comments on blogs that I run across that seem to not have many of them. I know what a boost that gives their confidence, and I've had a fair number of them return the favor.

How is your blog doing almost 4 months later?

I am in my first month as a blogger and I'm finding it pretty hard to keep the motivation going as I've had zero comments. I know people are reading but nobody bothers to share their thoughts. Sucky as this is, I will perservere. In fact, I've just posted a reward system type thing and am giving away a TopSpot for those who comment. Will this even help?

What helped when I was first starting was to comment on similar new blogs. Those bloggers often came and commented on my blog, and we helped keep each other's motivations up. Jay |
