Excellent resource, man! He overlooked one major source of traffic, though - forums. Promoting your blog on a forum is one of the best ways to get traffic - just join a niche forum and start citing your blog as a resource.

There are many ways to promote your blog, but first you need good, unique content. After that you can use:

forums
directories
free press release sites
blog commenting
social bookmarking
social networking
etc.

When starting out, I think Entrecard, BlogCatalog, etc are the best ways to go. Work those networks extensively for about a month.

Then start working relationships with other sites in your niche.

In the end, you need something worthwhile for people to read. If you can't produce quality, you'll never go anywhere.

i think,too much promotion at chatting room,writing editing also to help our blog famous.
