Default Any success stories from Entrecard or Project Wonderful?

I'm currently looking at Entrecard and Project Wonderful as a new source of traffic for my celebrity blog. Anyone found any success in Entrecard or Project Wonderful?

Project Wonderful seems interesting at the moment, because spending $1/day to advertise on a popular site seems like a good deal. I'm not so familiar with Entrecard but it seems popular.

Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by "success."

With Entrecard, I can drive enough traffic to a blog to net me around a $0.20-0.30 bid per day on a 125x125 or a skyscraper. With two of those, I can turn around and invest in a advertising campaign which nets me 200-300 additional hits a day.

Is that going to get you anywhere? Not if you don't have good content. You can get all the hits in the world, but if it isn't high quality content, no one is goign to care enough to stick around and make you money.

Agreed!

Despite of what people say about Entrecard, I feel it's a system with potential. I've used Entrecard consistently throughout since joining, but the thing is to get more, you should put in more!

I have tried PW, and it's a network made more for advertisers rather than publishers. If you're interested, I'd quote an article from my blog - "5 tips to get the most out of Project Wonderful advertising"

I would say 200-300 additional hits/day for 30 cents is successful. In your case, is hits = UV? My site is currently getting an average of 1.1K UV a day, so I am looking for something above 100+ unique visitors a day.

That would definitely get my somewhere. A majority of my traffic is through referrals via forums, blogs, and social networking sites, so I would hope Entrecard or Project Wonderful would add some more.

How exactly do you measure the quality of your content? I have been using average page views, referrals from forums/blogs, and returning/new visitor ratio in Google Analytics to approximate my content. I'm assuming based on these factors, people do find my content useful. Is that what other people use?

An interesting read for PW. I really do think "Project Wonderful seriously undermines the value of ad-spaces." Which is precisely why I would never put PW on my site...since Google ads in that same adspace will definitely earn more than 40-50 cents a day.

Unique views? Yes. Over the course of a weekend (4 days), and at a cost of $2, I pulled in around 900 Unique hits on my site. Did any of them stick? No. Did they click through? Yes, I got almost $15 in Adsense a day, because they all hit the Adsense ads.

Well it really depends on your niche. Project Wonderful is really geared towards webcomics, gaming, anime and the like. Since my main blog is about said topics I have had great success with PW. Not only in direct advertising but as a publisher.

You see, at times I've pondered switching those PW spots to something else but the traffic stats dont lie, a good ammount of return visitors originally came from scouting PW for sites to advertise on. In a way, the very fact of being in the program is great advertising. Again, this happens because PW is still quite focused in its audience but its still a very interesting situation.

Hey Kirb,

This forum experienced it's largest growth spurt EVER(which I wish had never ended) when I first started using Entrecard & PW.

Entrecard - When someone drops on you 1st time thank them and invite them. (Worked well as it was a forum and they are bloggers)

PW - Bid on all the low spots w/ "blog" keyword. Again not sure how it would work for you.

You should just work HARD and put together a great site updated often then start hunting blogrolls. That is what a friend of mine did with Best Celeb Gossip | Celebrity Juice, Freshly Squeezed before selling it for a good chunk of change.
