Content is KING on the web. How often have you searched for something and found the keyword but not what you're looking for? I know when I'm searching for something and I type in queries I'm hoping someone answered that exact question in as much detail as possible. What I'm getting at is when you write your bloggeries always try and put yourself in front of the end users montior. If you write articles / bloggeries that will truly help people solve the question they asked you'll succeed. By building sites / blogs for the END USER you are inadvertantly making it for search engines as well. Be as descriptive as you can and never worry about being too wordy. Chances are if someone finds something on your blog that they were hunting for they will be happier the longer it is. Always remember too that whatever knowledge you have ... SOMEONE SOMEWHERE on the internet is looking for. So post often and be descriptive always think of the end users and you'll do fine! I just did a couple of searches and found some awful sites, then found some amazing ones and this thought triggered in my mind and now the post is here.

In retrospect, content is king no matter what you write and who you write for. People who often blog these days blog for other people, the end users as you put it. Some of us still blog introspectively, we blog for ourselves. so content no matter how vague it is to the public still is king to us. At the end of it, you got to know what you're blogging for. The content you put down is a representation of who you are and what you're blogging about. If you're not true to yourself on the matter, neither will the content and people will know that.

Very true even if you blog introspectively you are writing about something that someone could be searching for; it's crazy that the web is literally that large that regardless of what you blog about someone somewhere will find it interesting and a core group of users if they find it will love it and keep coming back. As long as you write with passion and are descriptive you're doing a great job. Quote:

Content is very important. I write on my blog to learn more about interesting topics by doing research. If you can make a quality post about a somewhat unique topic, the page will rank will in search engines and bring in traffic. I think people sometimes focus too much on link building and other traffic building techniques instead of making great content.

I think it's a somewhat sequential process or should be. You should write enough content to make your site worth visiting and deep enough to let some browse. Fix it's appearance and make a good solid 10-15 posts atleast before you start doing any link building. Once you've done the minimum posts I"d suggest 20-25 though you can start doing some link building, blog roll exchanges are great in the beginning. Continue posting 75% of your time and spend 25% of your time on link building. Also make sure all of your posts are as SEO friendly as possible to give you the best chance possible. If your writing about key phrases even remotely competitive building quality relevant links to your site does play a part. Either way Content is still King in my opinion. Quote:

Well, nowadays I seen to get the attention of Search Engines - that is their bots visit my blog everyday. But still I don't rank very well and a lot of my pages still go into supplemental. I have been trying to write longer and more interesting posts, but still no luck. They hardly rank. |

How long are your posts SolidgHost? If they are under 350 I don't think it's that beneficial for SEO but I definately could be wrong. I try for 350-1000 for an "article". Bloggeries slightly different though. Rob Quote:

I'd say don't worry so much about not ranking, as long as you're doing basic on-page SEO and getting a gradual accumulation of backlinks. Eventually the search engines will take notice and send more traffic your way. Jay |

Usually more than 700 characters. But I think more than 300 words sometimes.
