Trouble with Adbrite when not using Auto-approved ads

I've tried setting the auto-approve ad option to "no" in Adbrite a few times, but the ads I approve don't show up (or show up very little, about 20% of the time). After much frustration I removed them completely.

I had experimented with Adbrite using auto-approve option set to "yes", but a lot of the ads were irrelevant, which would make Adbrite no better than Adsense.

Does anyone here have any luck using the no auto-approve option and have their ads show up consistently?
