Default Small Blog Inside My Home Page

.. Golly gee whiz, and I thought that this would be a simple thing to do. Not!!

.. All I want is a free >>stress:FREE<< program that allows me to insert a daily blog into the home page of my website.

.. I've searched thru the website and the program itself of WordPress2.5, plus one called Blog7.0. Nada on inserting a small window that would take up less than 90% of the width of my home page. Each and every one of the blog programs I have come up against deals with a blog that is centered upon its own individual page.

.. Well, I have that with the now horrid Google-Blogger (which I am looking to replace with this WordPress thingamabob). I just want to put a simple little window at the bottom of my home page on my website where I can rant and rave at the world (& me!!). I don't care for RSS feeds, or comments, or link-backs, or none of nuthin like that. Just a spot to say, "Life is Good" or "Life Sux".

..Don't care if it is a PHP or SQL, or whatever those 2 things mean. I'm just a dumb old sort who canna figger out diddly on how to integrate...

.. Tnx for your interest in this ol' boy's dilemma!!

>>>ooo, nice!! I try to "Preview" my post and get this from Bloggeries:
You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. You are not logged in. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page and try again.
2. You may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
3. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

>>>ummm, and how the heck do I get to a "Post New Thread" spot like this if I ain't logged in? Is this a "privileged" system here? I had to activate my account to get here, so has some admin gone god-crazy and disabled me B4 I get to say "Blggrdeeforp"? Well, I'll try to get this posted, but lemme tell ya, it is not a "help" to toss that kinda sh*t in a newbies face!<<<

Keep The Faith*

Here's a thread on another forum that addresses this question: How to embed blog in existing web page? [Forums - Blog Newbies] : Blogger Forum

The basic answer is to use an iframe (sample code provided through the above link) on your web site, and to hack out everything in your Blogger blog that you don't want to show.

Note that this isn't limited to Blogger blogs, it's just that those are free and easy to setup, so should work well for you. You could do something similar with any free blog host that allows you to edit what shows on the screen.

Oh, and the reason it asked you to login again is that this forum has a relatively low timeout on logins, so if you take too long to compose a post it automatically logs you out.
