Cool 1 blog or 2

Been thinking about this and decided to ask.

My blog is a mish mash of personal stuff and then talk about money making programs.

Should I separate the 2? The money part backs up the parts about my life (changes I'm trying to make, etc). So to me, the 2 sort of go together.

What do you all think?

Keep them in 1. If not you'll be torn where to put each one and people like to talk to feel they "know you" it increases your credibility in my mind and marketing / modifying / working on one blog is so much easier than 2.

I hope this helps

How are you intending your reader to develop?

Is it the intention to show everyone your life development or are you focused on driving traffic for the separate entries?

If it is the latter I would separate so as to facilitate the targeting of reader and traffic more easily, it really isnt that hard to link them. Also if you are considering monetising them in the future then consider whether having the two issues would dilute your advertising draw....would a money maker want to display on a life page??

Bloggeries, that's what I was thinking. I can barely keep up with the one. :lurk-2: And I wasn't expecting the traffic I've already been getting, so I can't even fathom trying to keep up with 2. Guess I needed a little reassurance. Thanks.

Auctionman, basically what I'm doing is talking about what I'm doing online and how it impacts my life (both emotionally and financially). I've thought about monetising in the future. But not real sure if I want to or not.

Honestly, I'm just having fun. Writing, meeting all kinds of great new people, learning all kinds of new stuff. This is definitely an adventure.

Nice blog!
I think they way you are writing the two subjects blend quite nicely.
And I can tell you from experience that more than one blog becomes a lot of work!

Yeah, to be honest, if you split them , you'll effecitvely split the audience until you lose them.

The money making side would seem dry without your personal input, and your personal stuff may not grab the attention without the "look at me, I'm making money, you can too!" stuff.

Best of luck of it, keep it as one, and you're audience should expand

Keep them together. Making money blogs are too hard to keep up with and it will only take time away from the personal one. Keep them together and you can work on each part of the one blog when you have the time.

Readers on a personal blog are targeted no matter what. They are readers because they connect with you personally in some way. Throwing a post or 5 in about making money and how it affected you will still mean something to them. If you split the blog, they will split too.

Good points here, hope it helps.

I will prefer to take into 1 ,be focus on 1 blog first then if the blog has strong traffics then you can convert this traffics to 2nd blog such as email marketing or post a notification to promote your second blog.

I think it would be easier just to use one. You will want to put all your efforts into so you can make it the best you truly can. If you use 2 it might be hard to keep up with both of them.
