My blog is using blogger template (which is only 2-columns), I just downloaded a 3-columns template. If I upload the 3-columns template, all my widget will be deleted.
Can anyone tell me how to do it without delete all the widgets? So that I don't have to add all the widgets all over again. Thanks!

You have to manually create all deleted widgets all over again, after uploading the new template. Simply copy the code of all widgets in a notepad and copy paste them later after uploading the new template.

You could also backup for free on BlogBackUpOnline (Check also how to specifically back up on their site)...

I have switched to two sidebars on the minima template which was straightforward enough if you want to do things manually.

The technique I use when converting to a new template, is creating a new "temporary" blog for testing purposes (I make it private and remove it from my profile). I paste the template into the new blog. Then in Add Page Elements, I add all the elements that showed up in my current blog (such as HTML/Javascript boxes, link boxes, etc.). Then I can copy the HTML code from the temporary blog to the new blog without removing existing elements (with expand widgets not turned on when pasting the new HTML code). That way, the current blog won't have any downtime when changes are being made
Hope that helps...
