I haven't tried Google Analytics, but I'm very happy with Statcounter. Sometimes I'm compulsive and check it a couple of times a day. Anyone else have this bad habit? |

Wordpress.com Stat definitely doesn't record your own visit, provided you're logged in. BUT, if you logged out from your admin account, your visit is counted. I did some testing when it was release to the public. At the moment, I am using 3 traffic statistic: 1. Wordpress.com Stat 2. Google Analytics 3. MyBlogLog Stats All 3 stat gives me different statistic. Different pageviews, different unique visitors. Google gave me highest pageview record, followed by WP.com Stat, and then MyBlogLog Stats. I like all 3 of them. Google give me very detailed statistic on my visitors, such as browsers and screen resolution. I kinda like how my visitors browser changes in this few months. More people are using Firefox, though the mainstream is IE in my blog. ![]() WP.com Stat is simple, and you can view them in your Wordpress Dashboard (which is great!). The thing I like about it is that you can view which blog entry is the most popular for the day. And as for MyBlogLog stat, well, I only like the Click Tracker part. It gives you information on which ads is click and on which page it is clicked. This way, I know which ads is effective on which page, and I can place my ads effectively. I love all 3 of them. Each have their own effectiveness, and I don't plan to ditch any of them. But will probably try a few new ones though. So is StatCounter good?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has different stats for different programs. I found AW-Stats, Statcounter than G.A regarding uniques and pageviews. Definitely quite bizarre but shows how it is important to have more than one source. For what it is worth however when selling a site it's most often AW-Stats that goes on the record as it's the most widely used. Rob
