All, I have heard from various folks that if you want to help with your Blogs ranking, make sure that it is included in the RSS directory www.rssmountain.com. Let me know your thoughts. It looks cool. |

The site is quite new. The ranking is misleading. If you search for "Best RSS directory" on google, it shows up at the #7 on the list. That is far more important than Alexa ranking since Alexa does a 3 months average.

If you post your RSS feed in RSSMountain.com or any other directory for that matter, it helps with your ranking. The way Google ranking works is that the higher the sites that rank (i.e RSSMountain raking is #7 on best RSS directory,) will have an impact on your Blog since they will have a link to your blog. The more you list your RSS feed in various RSS directories, the more it helps with your ranking. Makes sense?

The challenge for me with any of these kinds of directories is that my blog is essentially niche-less or very difficult to pin down to any specific category. Sometimes, directories will offer a "Personal" category which is probably about as good a label as any. Regardless, I've yet to see any appreciable improvement in page rank or traffic from one of these... |
