When is the Best Time to Start a New Blog?

I think you should go ahead and start. There's nothing saying that you have to announce its creation or start heavily marketing it right now, though. Keep your focus on your current site, but start getting your ideas down and going at a new place. Then when you have more time to devote to it, you'll already have the ground work laid and have content waiting there.

I write down ideas on scrap pieces of paper, receipts, etc throughout the day so I don't forget, but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump out to do it. It's just a simple reminder...

But then again, I'm a procrastinator but at the same time, I'm a procrastinator because I try to do TOO much at once...

The best time is always now. Don't put things off, the sooner it is up the sooner you can start adding content and gaining reader.

I'm in the start now camp, get a basic site up with 1 or 2 posts and get the site indexed. Then spend your time dedicated to that side on the writring part. More than the traffic, and more on the traffic on your first blog.

Sometimes (say if you are adding a link to a directory) you might as well add two sites wheil you're there.
