Default Why Do You Need 2 Email Addresses Per Blog?

The short story is because one email address should be a good one that you keep safe and the other one should be a junk one you don't care about.

When I started out I would make sure I got an email address to go with every blog I made, for example info#shopping4coupons,com. It was something to be proud of so I used it for writing to everybody, listing on forums, commenting on other blogs, submitting to directories etc.

Next thing I knew here comes the spam, usually 80% of it was just junk mail. And once you get on that list it will never stop.

I have learned the hard way that on day one I should have created 2 email addresses per blog, one for professional correspondences and one for using every where else.

Now I set up a Gmail account to use for submitting blogs to directories, commenting, or giving to anyone I just don't know. You may be tempted to make one junk Gmail account to cover a few blogs but many directories remember your address and they won't allow you to use it twice.

Google mail does sort the spam pretty well but you could use Yahoo, etc the same way, you only have to check that email address periodically.

I use this system now and live a pretty spam free life, so I thought it might be a good thing to share. I wish I had learned this lesson sooner....

hehe I actually have an email each with gmail, yahoo and hotmail. try not list any of your email in text form, even scrambled, I only display my email as an image, have been good at preventing spams so far. anyway nothing to worry when you got your own domain and hosting, you can create as many xxx@Shopping4Coupons,com as you want, no?

I try and keep one for general correspondence and the other for accounting. Basically an email account that collects payment email notifications from paypal or whatever other cc processor you are using.

I use two gmail accounts. One for my personal and business purpose. And the other is for sign up on various forums & websites, posting comments on blogs. I check my first account so frequently and the second account once a day at best.

i do have two from yahoo and including that I have from gmail too coz if yahoo crashes then gmail will be alive. And including with that I got emails from my own domain. I use email lists and redirect to a single email id. Thus if any email get spammed I will deleate that. In this way I am preventing spams but I could not help my yahoo email account from spam..........Its comlpletly with shit. and daily I get around 30-50 mails among which 7-10 are useful for me.

I had my email address before there was spam and so today every man and his dog has it. I just use a spam filter that arrests spam before it gets to my inbox.

I do have several email addresses these days for various hats I wear but all go through the spam filter I use.

I have my name at each of those places as well, but it was more for semi-completion sake than for actually using them (meaning I didn't want someone snatching up my name at one of the other main email hosts and pretending to be me). Because Gmail 'does' sort mail rather well and because I utilize filters/labels extensively, I have no problem using the main address at lots of places because I don't have to deal with any of the spam.

I have about 3-4 per domain

One for submissions (as in directory submissions etc)
One for adverts (payment sending/recieving of advertisments)
One for general correspondance (contact form)
One for personal correspondance (I write from this)

I generally prioritise in the order for personal > general > adverts > submissions (though general & adverts do switch a lot, due to the fact that it depends on how much etc. is on the table )

Its a good idea, have a general web based one and maybe set up forms linked to the domain and split those email addressed.

I have 100+ spam mails per day to one of my google accounts.
