Lightbulb How To Mask Your Affiliate Links To Make Money

Hey Bloggeries members,

I have been using affiliate links in my post for a few months now, and have really gone through all of the motions
in figuring out the best way to hide your referral number. In the end, I finally came across the best way (my opinion) to do this, and it is completely free

I first noticed this on some of the bigger blogs and just couldn't figure out how to do this myself (they don't usually tell )
Anyway, after trying and testing, I found the great method and decided to post about it today.

I think that masking your links can dramatically increase the amount of people that sign up under you.
I have this proven in my post, that I think you guys can stand to benefit by reading.

I want to keep the self-plugs to a minimum... but I feel like a lot of you can benefit from masking referral links and may not no how to do it.

Nice post. I LOVE the .php redirect! I think this is very helpful to those that aren't aware of it, until now.

Yeah, I was suckered into buying WP Affiliate Pro for $100. Its so much better to just do it yourself for free... and its easy!

I don't really see the point of WP Aff Pro, lol. As you said, the URL it churns out is just as ugly...

FWIW, if you use a PHP header redirect, you don't get the (to me) annoying "you are being redirected page", it just takes you straight to where you want them to go.

Here's a post of mine that describes that approach: * DIY Link Cloaking, With Pretty URLs*by*Online Opportunity

Both are better than ugly URLs, I just happen to hate delayed redirects with a passion (I think it's the impatient side of me).

Php redirects are better (2nd only to .htaccess for redirects that are failsafe), but the meta refresh has it's advantages (for one, you can set up a google analytic goal as well on the page, so you can track clicks). Top post!

Well actually, with this method you usually don't see the "You are now being redirected" page, it is usually automatic!
This is really just a safeguard in case the other faster method doesn't work.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I thought this post might be a little helpful

Hey,

Great article NetFool.

On the same subject, I have written an article with additional ways to mask affiliate links, which include a cool WordPress plugin that does this in a second, without any coding:

How-To: Hiding Your Affiliate Links

Tell me what you think!
