Help Switching From Blogger to WP, please?

So as a few of you guys know, I'm "trying" to switch from Blogger to Wordpress... though, I'm running into a problem.

I purchased a custom domain through Blogger's option, but how do I transfer/redirect that so it's now my WP domain? There isn't an option through Blogger...

Supposedly, I have to change the name servers but since I purchase my domain name through Blogger, I don't know how to go about doing that...

Help? Please?

I've never had a custom domain with Blogger, so I can't answer from personal experience. But I figured I'd poke around.

Ouch! This definitely isn't information that's just waiting around to be found, at least by me.

Blogger domains are purchased through Google Apps, and I found this post over at Google Apps help: Who is my domain host?

It suggests that your actual registrar would be eNom or GoDaddy. That's where you'd have to change name servers at. Using the technique in that post, the current name servers for your sites are listed at domaincontrol.com. That's a dedicated name server, so there's nothing at the domain to indicate who it is.

I finally found somewhere else an entry that seems to show domaincontrol.com being a GoDaddy name server.

So, when you originally bought your custom domain through Blogger, did you get an email from GoDaddy with details about the registration? That might have login info to go change name servers.

The only other option I can think of is to head over to the Google Apps help group and post a question there, if nobody else here has gone through the process.

Thanks for replying. I already contacted Godaddy via telephone and they almost seemed clueless and referred me right back to Google. I just submitted an e-mail to them.

But I went through all my e-mails and found that Google sent me a confirmation on my order.

So, again, I just submitted an e-mail to Google Apps and hopefully they can point me in the right direction. But that was the only e-mail I got after I bought my domain name... oh, I think I already posted a question in the Google help forums...

Crap! I think I found out how to switch the name servers but I think I just took down my site for 24-48 hours... can anyone go to my site? I just went and got an error message or something...

I can get to both sites, and it still looks like Blogger.

Yup, it's still Blogger. It takes up to 72 hours to switch my domain name to my new hosting... but thanks, I'll keep you updated to see if I still will need help.

What the hell? So, you went to DatMoney.com and it said that? Because I just went to it and it's still loading up from Blogger and NOT my new hosting yet. They haven't let me know if my domain switched over yet...

Can you check it again and see if you still get that message? And do you remember what time this was at?

Hmmm.... well, my Feedburner/RSS Feeds was day all day yesterday... and then you got that error message... so does that mean my domain name switched over and I just messed up on the Wordpress set up? lol
