Are Images Essential?

I like to add specific or overseas images (I'm from New Zealand) that somehow relate to my posts. But if I can't find a specific image, I will try to add a "grand" image of notable landmarks, bridges, or buildings, agencies, dams, etc, mainly from the United States, and try to associate them 'metaphorically" with my post. Hopefully such images add a bit of a wider dimension to the post. Incidentally I know there's a few Canadians on this forum - but I can't think of any famous landmarks, buildings, bridges, etc to search photo's for...

If it's a post about what I did recently, then photos are essential or people wont' believe me! If I said 'we caught a shark out of the aquarium today', it has a lot more impact if I inlcude a photo of the shark being caught, or being handled.

Images get immediate attention of your reader . Other than this you can get some extra traffic for your images

I personally think it depends on your niche. Video games blogs or tech blogs defiantly need pictures. However, personal blogs don't need to use them.

Of course, that's my opinion.

I see what you're saying. I don't mind on personal blogs but science, math, dry subjects that are all about content I don't think images are as important.

I think images are always important, no matter what the subject is. Now, I'm not saying you NEED to put images on every post, but pictures are worth a thousand words.

Images are very essential especially if your blog entry is so long. The images shall help the readers not to get bored.

I like to put a pic on my posts, but not usually any more than that unless a picture is absolutely needed....

I think the most pictures I've ever used in a post was 5 lol. It was a long post.
