You could always do this through your cpanel, look for something similar to these icons, and follow the prompts. Its pretty simple.

In your Wordpress dashboard, go to Manage->Export. You'll get a file you can store on your own computer that can be used in an installation of Wordpress to recreate the posts, comments, categories, etc.
This doesn't backup your theme, plugins, and other file based items. I'd recommend a cpanel backup once in a while for that, and an Export based backup very regularly. The backup plugins are also nice, but they generally produce an SQL file that must be restored via phpMyAdmin, which isn't as convenient as going to the Wordpress dashboard and choosing import. Jay |
