I think any platform you start out with will do just fine. They all seem to have many of the same tools. After you get your feet wet, then it's time to look into the real power behind blogging and a SELF HOSTED WP site is the only way to go.

right now I am maintaining a blog with a primary domain hosted by blogger. Online Earning Opportunities
I could find many disadvantages with blogger because tweaking is difficult. Also another thing is, many people are saying that XML is more search engine friendly than php. But I dont think so, coz word press blogs are getting more search results than blogger blogs when we are considering both blogs of equal value. Also I think monitoring of google for blogger blogs will be more than word press blogs

To be honest I've had a lot of blogs with blogger and a lot of blogs with wordpress and I do like both of them a lot.
However when it came down to it, I chose blogger. Yes I know wordpress has more freedom with themes Yes I know wordpress has more (awesome) plugin However there is one thing about blogger that I like more and is enough to get me coming back: The lack of distraction. Most blogger themes are perfectly fine for blogging, as far as plugins go, there are widgets out there to compensate for the most crucial ones. The fact that I don't have to worry about themes, or plugins, or go through a very long menu means I have more time to do what I enjoy: write, make pics, and promote. I know I seem irrational but.....BLOGSPOT KICKS WORDPRESS BUTT. and no amount of wordpress coolness can change that. |

I would recommend wordpress with your own domain.
Nothing like being in control. Blogger may be fine when you are first starting to blog. You will eventually change to wordpress so why not do it right the first time. Wordpress is the blog that most professionals use anyway. |
