A page rank did happen. I stayed the same (not complaining) but some aspects of the site increased as well.

The best time is the initial from 0 ---> ?

That does seem to be the only benefit of having page rank at the minute. Page Rank 6 web sites can charge $50 per month for a single link where as PR 3 and 4 are considerably less.

I guess PR is a by-product of link building so concentrate on that and hopefully the PR will come.

Selling links in today's world is a short term gain. Many of these PR0 blogs that claim this and that will have a rude awakening if one day they wake up and don't rank for a) their name and b) don't even come up in the index for the domain.

I do believe that is the "Next Step" after the "You've Been Warned". There are MILLIONS of sites online and only a handful show up in search engines; let alone on the first 1-5 pages...

I see PR as a privilege and a way of knowing the site has "good web ethics".

Yea that is the truth, but who really knows whats going on. Sometimes I see sites ranking and I have no clue how they do, there are things that no one will ever know and you really cannot believe anything you hear cause of the multitude of factors that come into play.

Both the blogs went from a PR Naught to a PR 3!

I too have noticed changes in my Backlinks. From 0 Backlinks now google is showing 940 backlinks. But my PR is still 0

How long has your site being up Eva White, also what sort of tactics have you been using to gain backlinks?

Congrats on that. I am in the process of building reliable backlinks. I think I am doing a good "slow and steady" job that should eventually provide for positive google results. Then again, maybe I should be doing a bit more work to get that ranking up quicker
