For beginners the one thing you need to remember is to never give up on your blog. Lately, I have came across two blogs (Passionate Blogger and ) that just all of a sudden quit writing posts on their blog without any notice. You have to stay committed to your blog first, otherwise the readers that come will not stay. The voice in your head I know after a couple of months of not getting very many subscribers or comments, that it is hard to stick with your blog. There’s that little voice in your head saying, “Is this worth the time? Would it be easier to just move on to something else? Should I just give up completely?”. Trust me, all bloggers have had this voice in their head at some time. What do you do? You have to block out that voice because it is not the truth. The truth is, your blog may be a month or two away from breaking the surface. Staying positive and believing that your blog can be successful are two of the most important things you should do for yourself. What makes you think that any person that comes to your blog will think it’s wonderful if you don’t think it’s wonderful yourself? How do I get that voice out of my head? Well first, you need to do the same thing as I said above. That is to stay positive and believe that your blog can become successful. If you do not like your own content and if you believe people don’t want to read it, then you’re probably right. An easy way to get this voice out of your head is to advertise on someones more popular blog. This way you can get a couple of thousand of subscribers of that blog to possibly come to your blog. And even if they do not end up clicking on your advertisement they will most likely remember the name of your website as long as your blog name is on your advertisement. Like me, if I still remember the name of the website I saw on a advertisement, I will probably go search for it on Google later. Another thing to do is pay for a blog review from a top-notch blog in your niche. Remember: You will probably not get very many readers to your web site if you do not advertise on a blog with the same niche as yours. If you pay for one of these reviews on a website with thousands of subscribers then all those people will get to read about your website and kind of learn about it at the same time. People usually feel more comfortable clicking on a link to your website when they know a little about it. Second to last, try finding blogs in your niche that you can guest post for. Yes, there are actually blogs out there that are willing to post something you write as long as it follows their guidelines. So make sure that you have written good content before you go out asking bloggers to post on their website as a guest. You can read more about posting as a guest by clicking here. Last but not least, write good comments on blogs that have the same or similar niche as you. You can get some good links from that website if they have the follow tag instead of the no follow tag. That way Google counts it towards your blog (this is a good thing). The more useful comments you write on blogs, the better chance you have that people will click on your link. People feel more comfortable clicking on your link to your website when they know you are giving out useful information. Here’s what goes through my head when I read a useful comment, “Well if I’m just getting help from this one little paragraph, then I can’t even imagine what their actual website is like.” So I end up clicking on the link to check out the website. That is exactly what you want people to think when they read your comment. Why is the voice not in my head anymore? Well, you probably have drove many more readers to your website which has built your confidence up a little bit. You might see that you have a few more subscribers than before and so now you believe that you can have a successful blog. You actually know that people like what they are reading and want to come back for more. Now there is no reason why that voice should be in your head telling you to give up. There is a lot more that can go into getting people to come to your website and then wanting to return later. Might as well start with this and then get into the more advanced stuff later. |

Thank you blogenhancingtips for your help and guidance. I had read somewhere a few days ago, that every blogger has to go through a blogging wall. Every blogger if he wants to be successful has to break the blogging wall and emerge as a winner. The bloggers who get disheartened before they reach the wall or are unable to break the wall have to see failures many times. Your post too explains the same thing. I know it is tough but I guess constant help and motivational posts like these help the new bloggers to face this situation with courage. |

Indeed, this should be a must-read for every starting blogger. What determines success with blogging is not your talent, it's your determination. Thomas Edison said "Success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." In the case of blogging, that 99% is made up of 69% hard work and 30% "sweating it out" until you break through. EXCELLENT post! Do we do "stickies" around here? |

Thanks for the tips. I actually gave up on my first blog, I must admit. I am determined to stick with this one though. I deactivated my account though, so I didn't just leave a random unused blog sitting around. I learned a little with my first one, so I feel like that experience will help make my new blog even better.

The first blog I started was on an over saturated topic. I rarely got comments and I wasn't as successful as I would have liked to be. I started a new blog on a subject that is a smaller niche and I have a lot less competition with this one. After having it up a month or so, the commenting on it was far better than my first blog. It was even nominated for being an "excellent" blog by another blogger. That is a huge compliment to any blogger.

Sometimes it is important to know when to throw in the towl. My first blog was about a subject that interested me and which is very popular as a subject on the internet. I just couldn't force myself to sit down and write about it. If you do find something that comes easy, don't be suspicious of it.
