Don’t give up on your blog

I just removed ads most ads from my blog last night. There are 2 amazon ads on previous posts, but I just want to concentrate on writing.

This next statement is not a udgement against ads - I'm hoping no ads will lend a little more credibility since I am not writing product reviews, advertising random services, etc.

When (not if ) I get my readership up I would like to sell ad space so at least I know what is going up there.

I'm also a big believer in getting traffic before putting up ads. Too many sites litter their page with ads and they have no traffic.

They are more worried about making money than developing content and getting readers who are actually interested in what they are doing. They are putting the cart before the horse.

I'm not planning on putting up ads till I can reach 1,000 RSS subscribers.

I'm not really sure what my blog is about it has a bit of this and a bit of that, but mostly video games and recipes and a few odds and ends thrown in here and there about whatever is on my mind at the time.

Wow... really? You're going to be missing out on a LOT of money if you wait until 1,000 RSS subscribers!

But you're right, at least for the traffic part. Without traffic, there will be NO money... and that's what I've been preaching for quite sometime now.

yeah quiting is for quiters (quiet obvious) but ive seen the traffic of my blog droppping instead of rising slowly.... and when you see that happening there are two things crossing my mind.. quiting.. or working twice as hard as i did before to get me some traffic..

i hope its all clear to you all im going for the last option.
