OK, this is pretty basic, but I gotta start somewhere. I just found a template that worked for me, and started my blog. I don't which parts of the template are customizable, which aren't, and I don't have any real grasp of code. Right now I'd like to know how to display my name by the posts I make. I plan to have other authors generating content, and it would be nice if each post could have a name or pseudonym attached to it. Is this possible? I don't know if this is dependent on template design or what. I expected to find something in the WordPress control panel, but if it's there, I'm missing it. Thanks! |

I had the same issue a while ago, go to Wordpress and login, than go to USERS than go to Authors & Users. Add a user, than check next to their name and at the bottom choose whichever properties you wish to give them. I trust this helps, Rob Quote:

Not much there I can do, really. I decide their public display name (as well as my own), but with my setup, the name of the poster only displays when they make a comment, but NOT when they make a post. Is it possible this is decided by the template I'm using? |

Did You assign the Users as Authors? If so when you make a post on the RIGHT ASIDE you can choose the author. Try that.

Yes, I make new users authors. WHen I, or a new user are posting, we are chosen as default to be the authors. The information is there in the code for the post, because the posts are correctly attributed when I see them in my feedreader. They just aren't attributed on the blog, on the posts themselves. Weird.

Maybe it's just the theme you're using? Mine shows "Posted by Jay" under every post title. I don't recall doing anything special to enable that. Jay |
