Exclamation Remove text over banner and add links

Hello,

I am very new to blogging and want to do a couple of things to a blog I just set up. See: diablotoastmasters.org

There is text over the banner I would like to remove: This is the text:
Diablo Toastmasters #598 - Toastmasters Internationaldiablotoastmasters.org

Also in the sidebar underneath Pages where "About Us" is displayed I would like to add links back to our main site:
Diablo Toastmasters #598, Concord CA - Toastmasters International

Replacing About Us text with:
Home
About our Club/Meetings
Club News and Resources
Blog
Contact Us

Thank you!

Rose

Do you want to remove this text from the image that is your header background, or the part that isn't in the image? In your dashboard, under General Options, there is 2 places you could edit to make that look better. The Blog Title and the Tag line. Delete both and you should have a much cleaner header. It presents other problems too, like the layout might scrunch up because there's no text there. If that happens, try putting this in the Blog Title space:   If it were mine, I would prob'ly try to change or edit the background image so it doesn't compete with the Blog Title and Tag line. You could also edit the style.css file and add a margin-top to the #header H1 selector. That will bring the Blog Title down some (delete the Tag line as mentioned before) - Try editing the part that says MARGIN: 0px; to : MARGIN: 75px 0 0 0;. Change the 75 to more or less to fine tune the positioning.

You can edit the Blogroll (look in the dashboard for Links) and add those to that (I would remove most of the others too and rename if from Blogroll to something else). Otherwise, you are lookin' at editing the template files, which you would have to do every time there is an updated version to install.

Hope that helps.

Thank you

For the Blogroll - How do I rename that? How do I remove the existing links under Blogroll? Is there a way to move the Blogroll section to the top?

How do I remove the Pages and About Us?

Look around your dashboard. You have a Blogroll section where you can edit information, even change the name. Positioning the blogroll is more difficult. You would have to edit the source files. You can edit the positioning of pages, including editing or removing them. A quick look around the dashboard would make that very apparent. Please familiarize yourself with the administrative area or you will be asking a lot of questions about stuff that's plain as day already.

One more thing

How do I order the blogroll links?

In wordpress it has a section:

Links ordered by (choices below):
Name
Link ID
Address
Rating

Should I change the link IDs? If yes, how is that done?

I don't think you can edit the Link ID. That would be nice.
