Default Page Rank

You can increase PageRank by submitting to free Directories on the Net, exchange links with fellow bloggers, submit articles to Web Article Directories, etc. Lastly, I found that joining a SEO Forum was extremely helpful for getting tips on increasing Pagerank. (and be patient, don't expect results overnight)

Google treats a subdomain as a different entity and so the subdomain should have its own backlinks to have a PR

Default Re: Page rank question

Google does not show all the backlinks. It also takes time to update backlinks. Page rank increases only by backlinking. There is no pagerank shown of new sites also, so if your site is new it might take some time for it to show some ranks. I look at yahoo to get a clear picture of backlinks to my site.
