I'm looking for a website that I can create a logo for free, or if somebody is really generous and would like to make a logo for me. The current one I have, I cannot use it in ads because it's too big and if I make it smaller, it just doesn't look good. Could someone help?

also check DigitalPoint forums- under Buy,Sell, Trade, then choose "services" then "design" they have a lot of people looking to build their portfolio and offering logo design for only like 5-10 dollars.

There's Logoworks by HP which isn't free but still a great deal starting at $99. They also offer LogoMaker which I've made a few basic logos for my sites free of charge. But you have to pay if you want the high quality stuff needed for advertising. You could also try a search on Google or check with Jay @ DatMoney to see what he offers.

i do a lot of graphics work(headers,banners,photoedits,avatars,sigs) excluding logos. lol.

I suggest getting a logo custom designed as this will help you to market a unique brand. There are far too many logos churned out of 'Web 2.0 generators' and give absolutely nothing to the website sporting them.
