I post at least once a day. I figure if there is new content every day it gives potential return readers more motivation to bookmark the site and check it on a daily basis

At my blog I've been trying to post once per day. Even though there may be tons to write about, if I end up writing more than one post per day, I save it and queue it up for release another day. There are days when I don't feel like posting at all, so having a post already queued is great. Furthermore, at my blog I have been trying to stick to a writing schedule, where each day will have a post on a set list of topics. For example, Stock Picking Sunday, Tech Tuesday, Wednesday Wheels, etc. Each day I try to fit a post into one of the categories for the day. Not sure if it helps or is good for the readers, but it does help me keep my focus on a topic to post about. |

I think it's not a really good idea to post more than 1 in a day. I think my most preferred way is to post every alternate day. This way, you can concentrate on promoting your post, then you can analyse how much traffic you got from that article alone and sort of giving time for that post to thrive, for readers to share with friends... Of course if you post every day, the first impression of visitors will be good, because they like frequently updated sites and there is a promise of content for them, to tempt them to bookmark. This will help in return and frequent visitors as well as feed subscribers. |

I've been posting on my blog like once or twice a week. But since nobody reads it, it really doesn't matter. Its probably best to make as many posts as possible (like 20 or more a week), if you want to get more traffic. But that's only assuming you can keep that pace without sacrificing quality. |

I feel like anything more than one a day will start to weigh down on users, and is more than likely overkill. People want to read your blog, but not necessarily be bombarded with information. I try to post every day, but have been settling for 3-4 times weekly. I suppose I need to increase this frequency, however all of my posts are very high-quality and content rich so it has been working out alright as far as I know.

Shoot for one a day, and if you have a lot to say do two in a day...making sure to space the posting times apart decently well (5 hours?).

Since you're just starting out, I would just stick with your once a day. But the bigger your readership gets, the more you should focus on marketing it. If it helps, I wrote why you should NOT post tons of times a day. You can read it at "What to Post? When to Post It?" Hope it helps! |
