I commented over there, but I think it's a clever tip...I wouldn't have thought to use Google that way to tell if it could recognize the split on its own.

I know that getting your keywords in your domain name are very important when it comes to Google, just do a search and often you will find the domains that are up high in the searches have those keywords in their domain name.

Since most of the 1 word domain names are gone I try and have 2 keywords in my names separated by some other word. It makes it easier for people to remember I think than telling them where to put the dash.

Some of my examples:
BruceAndStacy.com
DesignAndPromote.com
Shopping4Coupons.com and I also bought ShoppingForCoupons.com just in case someone remembered it wrong.

I'm not sure about dashes, they make your domain name look uglier and cheaper.

They may but depends on your goal. If you're looking for strictly search engine traffic it may not matter as many especially those most inclined to click ads don't necessarily look at the URL.
