Should I get per day to catagorize my blog as doing well?

I don't think there is a magical number for this. IMO it all has to do with the promotion of the site you are tracking. Some topics are searched more, and therefore lead to more traffic.

But I guess it all depends on your personal opinion(s) as to what 'doing well' truly IS.
My blog isn't super well-known but it's not 'dead' either hehehe

I agree - promotion helps - particularly with feedburner banners, and widgets, html/javascript codes that I inserted in social sites (e.g. myspace, mylot etc), all increased my daily visitors nearly 3 times. Also linking to my other sites. But I still don't know if it's "sufficient" visitors...

When I get at least 50 visitors a day I know I'm doing something right.

As the others have said, it all depends on what "doing well" means to you.

There is no standard measurement, but one thing to keep in mind...your blog can only do "well" or "poorly" when compared to your goals for it...blogging success is a relative measurement.

Therefore, I'll turn it back to you...what are your goals, both short-term and long-term? Ideally, you should have a target in mind of (a)how many uniques per day you want to achieve and (b)how many feed subscribers you have. If you don't have those, set them.

And no, there's no arcane formula to decide what your target should be. Decide on where you want (a) and (b) above to be in one month, three month and six months' time, then check them. If you hit your targets, then you're doing very well! If you make significant progress, you're still doing well. If you lose subscribers and your hit count drops to one hit per week from your Mom's IP, then you may need to re-tool.

Remember, when you go to the shooting range, you have no idea how well you're doing if you don't hang a target up to aim for!

mine is at 600 or so, below that and it is a bad day for me. Lately though I have been in the 8-900 range thank goodness!

I get 500+ hits per day.. and just like evelester if it went down it is really a bad day for me.. and i think of ways on optimizing and promoting my site...
