I use Google analytics which is pretty comprehensive, but also you can set up goals - which are funnels of urls. This way, if you want, you can track what pages are effective within a site and from another of your sites that leads to your goal - which could the page you ultimately want visitors to perform a action, e.g to add comments, or buy a product...

I use Google Analytics, but also the WP Stats available from WordPress.com. Hey, you've got that WP API key for Akismet, why not give their stats a run, too. It's not near as comprehensive as Analytics, but it's good for at-a-glance stats, where you want to see the basics of which pages were popular and how many views, referrers, links clicked, etc. It does the job, and I check up on Analytics not as often for more indepth stuff like bounce rates, exit pages, resolutions used, that kind of thing.

Thumbs up Mybloglog

i use MYBLOGLOG .. it tracks down where your visitors are coming from and what they are clicking on.

Moreover MYBLOGLOG will give exposure to your blogs and you can join other blog communities as well

Default Re: Tracking visitors?

I would say use google analytics, and maybe sitemeter or something if you want hourly updates. You can run them both side by side.

Talking Re: Tracking visitors?

I have "MyBlogLog" and "WP Stats" AND Google's analytics to monitor what is going on with my site My Futures Blog.

The 1st two stat keepers are pretty close to what is going on with my site.
I can also check the web stats my web host and they are also close to what MyBlogLog and WP Stats show.

Google, on the other hand, is flat line except for one visitor two weeks ago.

There's a smelly fish somewhere but I don't know where to look. My point I guess is not to rely to much on Google.

Life is Grand

Default Re: Tracking visitors?

I use the MyBlogLog pro ($3 a month) but so very detailed and even shows what they click to leave the site.

I also use Google analytics, feedburner, and 103bees - Search engine traffic analysis and statistics tool

( I am a stats addict!)
