Basic question, how often should you post on a blog? I know that I need to post more on my sites, but when does it become too much?

Everyone has a different opinion on this. Unless you happen to be a breaking news website, I tend to think that daily is too much: you burn out your subscribers and RSS readers, and it's hard to maintain superb quality at that pace. I also think consistency is very important. Don't post a bunch all at once, and then take a break. Depending on what you can produce in terms of quality content, I tend to think that anywhere from two to four times a week is a good blogging schedule to keep a blog up-to-date with fresh, new content.

Yes Melody says it best, the amount is up to the blogger as it's your blog. From my experience consistency matters more then quantity. People like to be familiar with when you write.

This is hard for me as well. I am blogging about coupon deal and WAH job leads. I'm afraid of having to many posts per day but if a great coupon comes out or a awesome job lead I have to post it.

I think that Melody's point about consistency is the key. To me it doesn't matter much if you post every day or once a week, but if visitors can look back and see that you've kept roughly the same schedule for an extended period of time, it will help build your credibility. Post however often you feel inspired; you don't want to force yourself to post when you don't really want to because the quality will suffer.

| I don't think making too many posts is a bad thing unless the are genuine and DO NOT lack quality as do many autoblogs out there, so that search engines may find you different from those spamming lot.
