Default Topic Focus and Confusion

I've read several blogging-related websites that provide tips on how to make a blog successful, and I stumble on one of the key issues I've been struggling to deal with: Focus on one or two topics. Sure, many of the blogs here focus on that few topics, but, is it really a good idea to stick to up to two when other blogs like mine focus way more than the two topics needed to become a popular blog?

My main issue is this: I cover several topics on my blog, including
- life in general in English
- Philippine issues in Filipino
- photography

I also am working on a blog on the same website that deals with transport, particularly:
- urban transportation (this I really have struggled to work on, yet this is really the topic I want to cover)
- air transport (dedicated link)
- describing my SimCity creations (related to urban transport)

Thus, I work a mumble-jumble of things to work onto. What can I do to work on this mess and save my blog from not getting that much visitors per week?

Here's the article where I found the tip: 8 Proven Tips To Make Your Wordpress Blog Popular

I think yo have to decide if you want to be a good blogger or a Popular blog because if you do not have a personal fan following , the next thin you need to be famous is a good amount of organic traffic that comes from search engines.

You will be able to rank good at search engines if you have a topic specific blog, and being jack of all trades is not a good thing here.
So better get a new blog for each major subject or try to focus on your major subject.
I know its hard to do than to tell but i thin you will be able to resist the temptations of becoming popular in long run, because there is no shortcut to it !

Write for yourself.

The more interesting content you create the more likely it is for people to find you and start reading your stuff.

Just try to have some sort of a common theme in some but not all of your content.
