Do you have any basics tips?

Hey just wondering if anyone had any general tips for blogging that they have picked up along the way?
Such as:
- Advertisement of blog
- Pictures
- Writing
- Blogging manners
ETC

That's a VERY general question. Even when broken down into those categories.
Advertisement:
~Link and banner exchanges.
~Other blog commenting.
~Guest blog posting.
~Create social media accounts for your blog and advertise on them.
~Use forum signatures

Pictures:
~Use appropriate image.
~Add a suitable description explaining the image.
~Don't go overboard with images.

Writing:
~Check for spelling mistakes... Then check again!
~Use full sentences, punctuation and grammar.

Blog manners:
~Act mature even when challenged.

There are so many other tips. The best thing to do is look through a couple SEO blogs to get a rough idea of the best tips and go ahead with them.
