Here's my list, I hope you enjoy!

1. You don't love what you do
2. You have far too many ads
3. You content lacks creativity
4. Your blog schedule is inconsistent and irregular
5. Your blog loads extremely slow due to third party apps or plugins
6. Your content lacks quality and market research
7. You provide no social sharing buttons such as twitter, facebook, google plus and blogengage
8. You haven’t been marketing or promoting
9. No SEO work in regarding to titles and content "Basic SEO stuff"
10. You have no will and only wanted to make money not a blog.

I love number 10 - because many people fall into this trap.

Sadly however, I make more money out of a blog that I don't really enjoy, I just made it to make money. The ones I enjoy writing make no money!!

I hear ya and it seems this is how it always works. Imagine how great it feels to love what you do and the site makes money.

I agree with number 10. At first when I started a blog I thought I would start it to make money - but now I realise that it's much more than that for me, I love blogging, and I haven't even thought about Adsense or anything yet

Surely you need to define what you mean by "fail"?

I blog for my own pleasure and amusement. If others find it interesting and want to come along for the journey then great. If not well I'm really not that bothered. I have another blog that is completely private - only I can read it and it will never be made public.

I am always surprised by the number of hits that blogger tells me I have. It is far higher than I ever expected and is increasing all the time but I expect it would be defined as "failing" by many standards as I'm not attracting hundreds daily.

I love what I do but I don't know if I'll be making money from it. Just reading those top reasons why I will fail isn't very encouraging. I know it's supposed to help but it's causing me to doubt myself.

I think that number 4 is the true killer, of course it may be a result of #10.

Inconsistent content is a big killer, readers stop coming back if they don't get new content. And if your not posting regularly it's easy to push today's blog post of until tomorrow.

Great list, I actually have a friend who started blogging and got me to start as well. Now my blog is doing great and hers is not because she is not consistently blogging.

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it! You know I've been blogging now online since 2007 and it's been an amazing experience on so many levels.

I thought the list was great but this is also an important point to keep in mind. Although it's the goal of many to grow their blog as much as possible, others are driven by a passion to share their thoughts or a hobby with a smaller group. #1, however, definitely holds true for both camps!
