Here's a simple question. If you have a blog page that's primarily photos with a short paragraph of text describing each, should that blurb be above or below? My instincts say below but when I read what I've done, it flows better above. In other words, I think it's better if you read then see instead of vice versa. Here's a page as an example where the text is above. ~ Shallow Leisure ~: NSXCapades 2011 Agree? Disagree? I want it to flow naturally for a first-time reader. Thanks! |

I use smaller pictures and have the text above, beside and below so it all hangs together. With the bigger pictures I prefer the text above so I know aht I'm lookig at |

I really think it depends on the post. I mix mine up and vary it depending on flow. So sometimes, it's better to have a picture and a description like a caption....and other times, the story comes first and then the picture. Just go with what works for you.

Im a journalism major, and in my experience people tend to be more likely to read, or keep reading with photos. So if possible keep the photos towards the top, write a bit above and below. if nothing else below. or use a smaller photo and do a text wrap, with the photo on the right or left side of your page/post.

I usually prefer the text below as a picture can introduce the reader to the story you wish to tell. But i like the way your flow goes on your blog, it reads like a picture book!

Personally, I often use description and attribution right below each photo. It is smaller than the rest of the type. I sometimes wrap my text, but most times (with an intro photo) put the text below the photo. I used to put the attribution to the side of the photo, but that took awhile. Since I have more than one blog, I have to do everything I can to save time. :-) I never thought about that before. |

I don't think that it matters that much as long as it's clear to the reader that the text is referring to the photo above or below it. I know i've read a blog before and got about half way through the post before I realized that the text was referring to the photo below it and not above it.

Me personally, i'd right a short caption describing what's in the picture directly below. Make sure members can see that the caption belongs to the picture on first sight. But you can have a longer description above the photo or below. It just depends what you feel comfortable with
