I built a blog and have been adding post to it on a regular basis. What is the very next step?

This is kinda sad. A very simple question. I must be doing something wrong. Mabey its my name. Or the nature of my blog. I dont know.

I do my blog then take the post fron there and put them in a chat forum. I get great responces. Cant figure out why I cant get anything here.

So, I'll try it agine!

I know nothing at all about blogging. NOTHING other then I have on and I add to it everyday.

I have a blog and add to it daily!

My question: What is the next step for me?

Hi Rob - I've merged your threads - otherwise you may end up with replies to both topics, which will get confusing.

It may seem like a simple question but it is a HUGE topic to discuss. It's a good start to have a blog, and be adding content to it. But the next step? There are many, many steps to take.

I can say that blogging every day is not really necessary and is difficult to keep up for a long period of time. So I'd suggest publishing 2-3 posts a week. A lot of readers won't want to try and keep up with more than this, and it's a lot of work to write every day without fail. (I've tried it! It's very tough.)

I would ask what your blog is about, and what type of reader you are hoping to attract? Also, how long have you been posting content on your blog?

Well, Its about my life as a homeless person! I've been blogging almose every day that I've been on the streets (1 month, this time). I tell people how my day is, tell them about any progress I make and I also give people tips to serviveing the streets, "homeless tips". Also, I have a plan to make it off the streets. I have just begone talking about it on my blog but my readers know I have a goal set and am makeing strided to make my goal. I'm trying to deminstrate that a person with a dream thats at the rock bottom in life can make it to the top through hard work and dedication. So, its kinda like a story and in the end (when ever that is) the only question will be if I made it or not. I post my blog on a "homeless forum" sometimes and I tend to get some great responces. Thats why I'm gonna start pushing my blog harder now. I do it day by day but you are probley right about slowing down. I will do that, Ben!
Probley nothing anyone here will want to read, but I think some people will. So I'm going for it.

In terms of blogging, I’m fairly new myself and am still getting a hold of the basics, so not sure if I can offer you much advice. In regards to the next step, what are some of your goals that you want for your blog? Eg. Getting more people to read it, follow you etc

Ya, I guess both, LOL! Thanks for reading it. That means a lot to me. I'm just trying to be seen. As far as a goal for my blog goes I think I'm just trying to be seen in the search engines for right now. I'd like to be on the top of "homeless blogs. LOL! But I think breaking ice would be pretty good for right now.
